I’m Emily. I’m the baking bibliophile behind Bakes from the Bookshelf. By day, I’m a grad student studying to be a librarian/archivist. By night, I bake! A little about me? Baking is my favorite hobby. Culinary history fascinates me. Books are my most prized possessions. I’ve never met a doughnut I didn’t like.

Bakes from the Bookshelf is my space to explore the many cookbooks, baking books, and food-related memoirs on my to-read list — and to share my thoughts and kitchen adventures with you, of course!
